SEPnet Astro Outreach activities
SEPNET's Astrodome sees first lightThe School of Physical-Sciences at the University of Kent, through funding from the South East Physics network (SEPNET), has recently acquired the SEPnet Astrodome. This mobile digital planetarium allows groups of up to 30 students to experience astronomy, space science and physics talks in a fully immersive cinema experience and is an exciting addition to the department's pioneering outreach activities.
The Astrodome will be officially opened by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Julia Goodfellow at a ceremony on Thursday 25th June at 1:30PM in Eliot Hall. A demonstration of the capabilities of the Astrodome will be provided and the ceremony will culminate with students from St Steven's school receiving the inaugural talk.
